MPD Investigating Fatal Southeast Shooting

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Southeast.

On Sunday, May 5, 2024, at approximately 7:41 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 3500 block of Stanton Road, Southeast, for the reports of sounds of gunshots. While officers were on-scene investigating, two victims suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at an area hospital for treatment. Despite all lifesaving efforts, an adult male succumbed to his injuries. The second victim, an adult male, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The decedent has been idetinfied as 31-year-old Anthony White, of Northwest.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
